Description:

Xunantunich is perhaps the most famous and most visited Maya site in Belize. You first have to cross a cranked ferry that separates the village of Succottz from this ancient site. Once a major ceremonial center during the Classic Period, Xunantunich is composed of six major plazas and is surrounded by more than twenty-five temples and palaces. Once on top of “El Castillo”, the site largest temple you will be amazed by the panoramic view, that is perfect the best selfies.

Cahal Pech can be described as a city within a city. Within a few minutes away from San Ignacio downtown, you can step into the Mayan world. The site center sits on the crest of a steep hill on the west bank of the Macal River. It is a very small yet unique site that is perfect for birders. Don’t be discouraged by its size compared to other Maya sites. Cahal Pech offers fascinating architectural background of sites and palaces, artifacts and picturesque a ball court.

Description:

Caracol is the biggest of all the Maya sites in Belize, hence to get to Caracol one must be up for an adventure. You must travel through the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve, where you will be greeted with amazing granite and limestone mountains, pine trees, wildlife, waterfalls and pools. ‘Caana’, the site’s largest pyramid rises 140 feet high and is the tallest manmade structure in all of Belize. At the peak of its existence, the Mayan city of Caracol covered some sixty-five square miles and was home to more than a hundred thousand people. Today, archaeologists from all over the world have a field day excavating its more than seventy-five structures.

Tikal is Guatemala’s best known site and visited tourist destination. You can climb to the peak of Temple IV and take in the spectacular views.
